Description

The Rosette Nebula is an H II region located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way Galaxy. The open cluster NGC 2244 is closely associated with the nebulosity, the stars of the cluster having been formed from the nebula's matter.

Radius: 65 light years

Cloudy, rainy-day blues: remedy calls for your fave, best data from the last season to be reprocessed with improved techniques. This data acquisition was done late February 2022, from our Bortle 5 backyard.

Equipment used: WO Z73 doublet apo refractor on iOptron GEM28 mount with GPS, 0.8x FR FF, ZWO 294MC Pro main camera, L enhance filter, ZWO 120mm guidecam, ASI Air Pro and all powered by two Jackery units.
